March Madness 2022 – From Eli Manning’s Phantom to Signs on the Jersey Turnbike

Some things that unite New Jersey rather than referring to Wawa are going down the aisle or the phrase “20 regular, cash”.

With their 2022 NCAA Tournament, the St. Peter’s Peacocks can be added to that list – even if their March Madness appearance only lasts a few more days.

On Friday, the team made its first Sweet 16 appearance in Philadelphia, 90 miles from its home arena, and faced the 3-seeded Burdock in the Eastern Regional semifinals.

Peacocks came first and made history as the first 15-seed to form the Elite Eight.

Last weekend, St Peter’s won 70-60 against Murray State following an 85-79 extra-time victory over Kentucky, in which the Peacocks were not trailing the third 15-seed to reach the Sweet 16.

These days, peacocks live a charming life as a Cinderella group and enjoy the backward love of competition. Check out their week:

The second sadness of the Peacocks this week was the praise of many local teams and a friend with another feather.

When asked how his team fits against the big teams, Holloway, who hails from Queens, New York and played at Seyton Hall, gave the most appropriate answer to going to local billboards.

“I have comrades from New Jersey and New York City. Do you think we’re afraid of anything?”
